The Northcenter Neighborhood Association (NNA) creates wonderful opportunities to connect through community events and forums, and by creating engaging volunteer opportunities that impact our environment, seniors and youth, and neighborhood development. NNA works to bring the neighbors of Northcenter together to achieve and preserve a vibrant community for living, working, and playing.
The very heart of NNA’s community is our all-volunteer board. We are seeking new board members who share in our commitment to building a vibrant and connected community. If this is you, consider joining us! You can learn more about NNA and the work we do in our fact sheet and on our website and Facebook page.
We will present and elect our new board members this May. We are particularly interested in attracting candidates with the following skills/interests.
Financial Management/Accounting: Our current treasurer plans to transition out of the role next year, at which time we will need a new treasurer to step up. Responsibilities will include operational management / oversight of organizational accounts and bill payments, reporting to the board on NNA’s financial condition, and strategic leadership, including budgeting and long-term planning. Experience with Quickbooks or and/or interest in non-profit financial management is a huge plus for us. We will provide training.
Fundraising: We also welcome prospective board members who have an interest in fundraising for non-profits and want to help NNA build a sustainable financial base for future activities. Fundraising can be separate from or overlap with the treasurer role, depending on the interests and capabilities of interested board members.
Social Media and Event Promotion: We need more help to get the word out regarding our member events, committees and community projects, and other topics of interest to our members. If you are interested in developing and executing strategies to promote these types of activities via social media and other venues, please consider joining us!
Content Generator/Writing: We want to add richer, more engaging content to our newsletter and social media. If you would be interested to write articles on a regular basis to inform and engage our members about NNA activities, neighborhood events and news, local businesses and individuals and other topics, we welcome your talents.
Even if you do not have a strong interest in these areas, we’d love to meet you if you are interested in helping us reach our goals and carry out our mission of connecting neighbors and making the neighborhood a better place to live, work, and play.
We are scheduling meetings with prospective board candidates starting the first week of March. Please let us know whether or not you are interested, and if so, when you are available for a one-hour meeting. You can contact us by email at email@example.com
We sincerely hope you will consider joining us on the NNA board and becoming a leader in our organization.
